Your information is used to serve you — never sold, never shared for marketing. In plain English:
1. What we collect
Only what we need to help you: your name, phone number, email, service address (for in-home visits), and a description of the device or problem — collected when you book an appointment, request a quote, check out, or contact us. Card payments are handled by Stripe; card numbers never touch our servers.
2. How we use it
To schedule and perform your repair, send appointment confirmations and quotes, keep you updated on your repair status, take payment, and answer your questions. That’s it.
3. Text messages (SMS) & mobile opt-in
When you provide your mobile number — by booking on this website, requesting service, or asking us by phone — you agree to receive service-related text messages from Honest Joe’s Computer Repair, such as appointment confirmations, price quotes with a link to confirm, and repair status updates.
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number, or your text-messaging opt-in / consent, with any third party or affiliate for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in information is never shared with anyone for marketing.
Message frequency varies (typically only when you have an active appointment or repair). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not affect your repair; we’ll simply reach you by phone or email instead.
4. Who we share it with
Only the service providers that make the service work — Stripe (payments) and Twilio (text-message delivery) — and only the minimum needed to do their job. We never sell your data. We may disclose information if required by law.
5. Your files & data on devices
Files on a device you bring us are accessed only as needed for the repair, never copied beyond working images, and working images are wiped after 14 days. Backups remain your responsibility — please keep one before any service.
6. Data retention
We keep booking, repair, and payment records only as long as needed for warranty, accounting, and legal purposes, then remove them.
7. Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to records we must keep by law) by calling or texting (818) 403-5335 or emailing [email protected]. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts.
